Dusk in a narrow hutong street — original 73 Productions photography

Your business deserves
more than a template.

73 Productions creates distinctive, hard-working websites built around one simple principle: Give people a reason to care.

We combine smart web design with sharp writing, original photography, film and more than 30 years of professional storytelling experience. No generic language. No borrowed personality. No website that looks as though it could belong to anybody.

Our Approach

Websites built
by storytellers

Most websites explain what a business does. The good ones make people want to do business with it.

We start by understanding your company, your customers and what makes you different. From there, we build a clear story around strong visuals, confident copy and a design that makes sense from the first click.

Working directly with Tom and Rob means no bloated agency structure and no trail of account managers. The people you speak to are the people creating the work.

Film & Television

Thirty years of
making people watch

Long before 73 Productions began building websites, Tom Thompson was producing, directing, filming and editing television.

His career spans three decades of broadcast production on both sides of the Atlantic — from observational documentary and factual entertainment to corporate films, political media and remote-location production throughout Alaska.

That experience matters.

Television teaches you to find the real story, remove everything that slows it down and communicate clearly to an audience that can leave at any moment. Those same rules make a great website.

Powerful websites need powerful pictures.

Our photography comes from real people, real businesses and real locations — not a catalogue of interchangeable stock images.

Tom's collection includes years of work across Alaska and the Aleutians: wildlife, wilderness, aviation, marine operations, working life and the people who call the Last Frontier home.

Photography is available for website commissions, campaigns, editorial use, prints and selected commercial licensing.

What we actually build

We do not begin with a fashionable template and force your business into it. We begin with three questions:

Who are you?Who needs to find you?Why should they choose you?

The answer becomes the foundation for everything — the words, pictures, structure, design and customer journey. The result is a website that looks like your business, sounds like your business and works for your business.

Who we are

About
73 Productions

73 Productions is an Alaska-based media and creative company founded by television producer, director, cameraman and editor Tom Thompson.

Working in partnership with web designer Rob Hampton at Rockstar, 73 Productions brings together broadcast storytelling, website development, photography, film, copywriting and brand design under one roof.

We work particularly well with businesses that have a genuine story to tell — outfitters, lodges, tourism operators, independent companies, professional services and organizations that need something more distinctive than an off-the-shelf website.
